Hello Dear Friends,
Praise the Lord as always! Success, success!! The first half of the SAGBA meeting was planning and board-meeting type discussion. After sitting through that (nervously fidgeting in my chuck taylors), they had a time of “coming out stories.” I gave my life’s testimony–the times I’ve come within an inch of dying, all the trials God has brought my mom and I through, the struggles with my dad, the miracles God worked in so many marvelous ways to keep me in music, and the wonderful and complete healing and peace that is in Christ for a lost soul like mine. I was nervous, shaky, and cold–wasn’t easy. I don’t really feel like I was anything impressive or said anything momentous. I know I could have done better in getting points across. But, praise the Lord, that’s the way it’s supposed to be, right? My weakness for His glory. I know that the Holy Spirit was there working on hearts–I could see it in their faces and tell by the questions they asked. One of them
turned out to be an atheist, “I don’t believe in God; I am my own god who calls all the shots, and I’m just fine.” Oddly enough (Lord works in mysterious ways), that was the person I ended up walking with all the way across campus back to her dorm. Of course, she was not “just fine.” Pray for her, Erin, one confused and misled by early church experience. I just let her talk (so that I could quietly pray like crazy), and she gradually got more friendly. By the end of our conversation, the Spirit had softened her enough to accept an invitation to both Bible study and church! Praise the Lord! I know there were a lot of long-term seeds planted tonight in various hearts, but at least I know that one seed is beginning to sprout.
Thank-you so very much for your continuing prayer. Before I set out tonight, I could really feel all of your encouragement and strength as I prayed and sang in one of the practice rooms. Please pray for the Bible study this Wednesday night (6:30 in the Language Arts rotunda if anybody is in the neighborhood) and the Improv worship service next Sunday. Sarah and I had a wonderful and very encouraging time of prayer, supplication, inspirations, and dedications tonight after the meeting–pray for our continued spiritual growth together in this mission front. We will most certainly be praying for all of you in the missions and works God has called you to do. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord! How wonderful to serve the God of the universe with a Bible in one hand and a viola in the other! Thank-you again for your prayers and encouragement, my dear brethren. The peace of our Lord be with you!

Dear Morgan,
Congratulations that everything is going so well! It’s good that God is working in a place like that, bringing the light into dark places. Keep up the good work. But I would suggest that you look for a good church near campus, because new converts could use lots of instruction and advice from lots of Christian peers. Improvised worship isn’t bad in and of itself, but it shouldn’t take the place of corporate worship. If you find a good church in the area, be sure to recommend it to people. Well, I hope the work will keep progressing. God bless!

Dear Morgan,
It is great to hear God is working at Interlochen. I frequently pray for that campus, though not knowing exactly about what to pray. I am encouraged by your faithfulness to share the testimony of God’s work in your life. May God bless and establish your work there! (PS 90:17)
